Children who are applying for admission to Grades K through 8 will spend an entire day with their peer class. This provides the child an opportunity to experience a typical day at Regina Pacis Academy and allows faculty members to interact with the prospective student. Students applying to Pre-K-3/4 do not have to come for a Shadow Day.
Children should plan to arrive at 8:45 am and will stay until 2:45 pm. Parents may walk their child into the front entrance of the building. A staff member will escort the child to his or her classroom.
Children shadowing in Grades K-2 should bring lunch, a water bottle, and a snack. Children shadowing in Grades 3-8 should bring lunch and a water bottle.
Children should wear dress clothes to school that day, closely resembling our student uniform. Boys should wear grey or dark dress slacks, a white or blue dress shirt, and dark dress shoes. Girls should wear a modest dark dress or skirt and white or blue blouse, and dark dress shoes. If a child shadows on a Tuesday, he or she can wear athletic clothing (sweatpants, sweatshirt, etc.) as all students have Physical Education that day.
Parents should pick up their child at 2:45 pm, before the normal school dismissal begins.
No, there is no deadline for submission of an application. There is a rolling admission process for all prospective students. Priority of admission is given to siblings of current students.
For children entering Kindergarten in September of a given year, they must be 5 years of age on or before December 31 of that year. Admission is contingent upon receipt and review of the required records, interview with the principal, and results of the readiness test.
