Position Summary
Regina Pacis Academy, an independent, Catholic classical school located in Norwalk, Connecticut, serving students in grades Pre-K-8, is seeking applicants for a Director of Development.The director is responsible for leading the fundraising efforts of the school. This person identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards major donors; develops fundraising strategies and coordinates events; and manages established development programs. The director of development reports to the Board of Trustees and works closely with the board member overseeing development, the school principal, and other staff. This is a part-time position with the potential to become full-time. Compensation includes a base salary plus performance incentives.
Responsibilities
Development responsibilities are organized into two areas:1. Solicitation
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and potential donors and sponsors for major gifts via solicitation letters, calls, and in-person meetings
• Direct gifts toward key initiatives including annual giving, endowment, and capital campaigns
• Prepare cultivation and solicitation plans for major individual donors to include gratitude calls, personal notes, event invitations, and reports on school activities
• Research and write grant proposals and cultivate relationships with grant-making foundations
• Assist staff with organizing events to raise funds and promote the school, e.g. annual fall gala, spring book drive, guest lectures for donors, faculty showcase events2. Program management
• Assist in the creation of donor-focused marketing materials and their distribution in relevant venues such as print and electronic media and events
• Create a program for legacy donors through trusts, wills, life insurance, and other designations
• Create and manage a donor database and software
• Produce timely acknowledgement of donations through letters and yearly contribution reports
• Educate and organize volunteers to help with solicitation and eventsQualifications
• A faithful, practicing Catholic, willing to make a formal Profession of Faith and take an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church
• At least 2-3 years of experience in non-profit fundraising and development
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
• Experience with the Microsoft Office suite and donor database software
• Event planning experience

Qualifications
• A faithful, practicing Catholic, willing to make a formal Profession of Faith and take an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church
• An experienced, certified teacher having at least 2 years of classroom teaching or tutoring experience
• An individual who is organized, prompt, and adaptable to changes in the classroom
