The History of Regina Pacis Academy

One of the Top Private Schools in Norwalk, CT

Founded in 2005 as Anchor Academy, Regina Pacis Academy began classes in September of that year with 23 students and 4 teachers. Since that time, our enrollment from Kindergarten to Grade 8 has grown to more than triple that size, and our teaching staff has quadrupled to include 6 full-time teachers and 10 part-time teachers.

Our student body comes from many towns in Fairfield County, including Norwalk, Stamford, Greenwich, and Trumbull, and parts of Westchester County, NY.

Regina Pacis Academy is a member of the National Association of Private, Catholic, and Independent Schools (NAPCIS). NAPCIS confirms the character and quality of Regina Pacis Academy and gives witness and support to its philosophy of education. It provides assurances that a school has met the high standards of spiritual and academic excellence which characterize NAPCIS schools.

In 2019, Regina Pacis Academy received recognition from the Cardinal Newman Society as a Catholic Education Honor Roll School. The Cardinal Newman Society began recognizing Catholic high schools and colleges in 2004 as a resource for those looking for authentically Catholic schools with a rigorous academic program. Regina Pacis Academy is among one of the very first elementary schools in the country to have received this honor - and is the only school in Connecticut to have received this honor.

Our school is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Our school is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary under her title of Regina Pacis, Queen of Peace. Our Blessed Mother, through whom all graces are received, offers peace to all who struggle to imitate her Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Peace is the result of a well fought battle and rests with the pure of heart.

On the emblem, the crown of the Queen of Peace hovers over the flood waters with the olive branch, a symbol of peace, on each side. Small anchors can be seen within the crown. They are symbols chosen for our mother school, Anchor Academy, and symbols for Spes Nostra, Our Hope.

Surrounding the crown are the words Our Lord spoke to his apostles the night before He died, “Pacem relinquo vobis, Pacem meam do vobis.” “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you.” It is in embracing the Cross that we find peace.
